Key Qualifications: Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to: - Diploma in Landscape Design and experience in the landscape design field is required, or, the equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience composing correspondence and writing reports.
- Experience using a variety of computer software (e.g. Excel, Word) and the ability to utilize other software packages relevant to supporting the Division's core requirements(e.g. IBMS).
- Knowledge of landscaping materials and implementation methods.
- Familiarity with hand graphics, photographic and drafting equipment.
- Familiarity with the planning process, plans interpretation and construction health and safety issues.
- Well developed verbal and written communication skills with the ability to draft written correspondence and reports.
- Excellent customer service skills when dealing with other City staff, elected officials, solicitors, the development industry, consultants and the public.
- Ability to resolve problems and issues.
- The ability to monitor and inspect the progress and compliance of required landscape and related site work of approved development projects for recommendation of financial securities release.
- Strong organizational, time management skills and the ability to prioritize assignments.
- Working knowledge of relevant sections of the Planning Act, the Development Review Processes as well as knowledge of landscape architecture trends and advancements.
- Must possess and be able to maintain a valid Province of Ontario, Class “G” Driver’s License and must have regular access to a fully insured and licensed vehicle for on the job use, reimbursed by meterage.
