PMA is looking for an independent, creative, reliable and organized individual to be part of a studio-based team. This individual must have strong drafting skills, good communication skills, manage their time well, and be a team player with a sincere and enthusiastic passion for landscape architecture in its full diversity. This position is for a 1-year probationary period and contract, with a possibility of extension and/or a permanent position.
The position’s primary focus is to act as the project manager or project management support to the Senior Landscape Architects, and perform tasks of coordination of drawing sets, consultant coordination and drafting production .
Salary will be based on experience and skill level. This position is available beginning April, however, start date can be negotiated.
The ideal candidate should have the following skills and experience (in no particular order):
• degree, diploma or certificate in landscape architecture or landscape design
• min. 5 years experience at a landscape architecture firm
• experience, knowledge and skills in preparing site plans, tender packages and technical specifications
• knowledge and skills in executing working drawings and producing construction details
• high computer proficiency in CAD programs (Vectorworks and/or AutoCAD) and Microsoft Office
• managing projects including coordination with other consultants
The following abilities are not required, but considered an asset:
• skills and experience in Mac environment, particularly the ability to use Vectorworks
• strong graphic skills, including rendering and InDesign document layout; computer proficiency in 3-D and Adobe programs
• skills an experience in contract administration and construction stage services
• skills and experience in preparation and assembling of proposal submission documents for municipal RFP’s and fee letters
•` proficient writing skills and experience in writing
