Intermediate / Senior Landscape Architect / Designer

The Planning Partnership is seeking a talented and experienced Intermediate Landscape Architect / Designer to join our multi-disciplinary team. As an Intermediate Landscape Architect / Designer, you will be involved in the design and implementation of a variety of exciting and complex public and private sector projects. Our portfolio of active work includes public realm and open space projects, streetscape renewals, institutional campus design, and urban infill and adaptive reuse developments. Our approach to project management is to establish small, project-specific teams, which follow their projects from concept to completion. We offer a collaborative, flexible work environment for individuals to broaden their knowledge, pursue their interests, and develop their careers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate project deliverables with the project team
  • Collaborate with project consultant teams
  • Develop concept designs and communication materials
  • Prepare technical drawings, and construction documents
  • Balance multiple projects and over-lapping deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Develop cost effective construction details that meet OBC and design intent
  • Coordinate sub-consultant drawings and construction documents including Specifications
  • Participate in construction administration and project closeout

Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor or Masters Degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture or Architectural Science
  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant post graduate experience in a professional environment
  • Demonstrated experience on complex, large scale projects
  • Minimum of 2 years Construction Administration experience is an asset
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in technical design (e.g. grading, planting, construction detailing)
  • Working knowledge of construction methods and materials
  • Working knowledge of AODA, OBC, and CSA standards
  • Proven familiarity with federal, provincial, and municipal approval process and standards in Ontario
  • Demonstrated proficiency with AutoCAD. Experience with LandFX, Adobe, SketchUp, and Revit an asset
  • Valid G driver’s license
