Are you a highly motivated and dynamic Junior Landscape Architect who is seeking to create meaningful and beautiful work in our Dundas, Ontario, office? Exceptional design, communication, and organizational skills are an asset in the design and project management of our diverse projects. Virginia Burt Designs loves the practice of landscape architecture, and we work to improve and uplift our world from places of healing to naturalization. We have a collaborative and supportive work environment. This is a full-time position in our Dundas office, and we offer a compensation package commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and finalize information requirements for projects
  • Organize data collection and identify sources
  • Assemble reports and proposals
  • Undertake analysis for projects and prepare draft analysis and preliminary design
  • Generate/coordinate high quality illustrations, 3D renderings, and presentation materials
  • Prepare preliminary plans and solutions for small-to-medium sized projects
  • Prepare construction documentation, draft reports, memos, and correspondence

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of professional landscape design experience
  • BLA, MLA degree, or College Diploma in Landscape Architecture
  • Working understanding of design and technical knowledge
  • Team player
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience working with detailed design projects
  • Working knowledge of construction methods and procedures and plant materials
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare high-quality design work and design presentations
  • Proven ability using and managing AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, Adobe Creative Suite, and Microsoft Office Suite. Revit, VectorWorks, and Lumion are helpful.
  • OALA Associate accreditation required, and other accreditations are an asset
  • COVID-19 double vaccination and boosters are required
