Urbantypology Inc. (“Ut”) is a design studio practicing in Master Planning, Urban Design and Landscape Architecture. Ut is committed to creating great places which support people and communities.

Our growing portfolio of community neighbourhoods, parks, streetscapes, museum spaces, plazas, campuses, and medium-to-high density residential developments offers a diverse and fun range of design experiences.

Ut is seeking a full-time landscape designer who is a highly motivated, independent, and creative team player to grow with us in Ottawa, Canada’s National Capital.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Degree in Landscape Architecture, Diploma in Landscape Design or degree in an allied discipline.
  • 2 to 4 years of professional office experience

Qualifications:

  • Strong AutoCAD skills (essential)
  • Demonstrated proficiency SketchUp and Adobe Creative Suite, while experience with BIM/REVIT is considered an additional asset
  • Competency with detailed design and construction documents
  • A high aptitude for problem solving and learning
  • Excellent organization and technical graphic skills
  • Ability to work in a team and independently
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Coordinate closely with and support senior staff
  • Ability to work on multiple projects – sometimes with conflicting deadlines
  • Keen to learn + have fun designing

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with senior staff to support the execution of project deliverables
  • Contribute to, and learn about, all stages of the design process
  • AutoCAD drafting and graphic rendering
  • Develop base plans, schematic and detailed designs and construction details
  • Continue growing an understanding and comfort of project management
  • Contribute to project workflow administration
  • Support senior staff with construction inspections and contract administration
