Design Industry Advisory Committee (DIAC) Representative

The Design Industry Advisory Committee (DIAC) is a non-profit, cross-disciplinary design research group working to make design a pivotal part of a successful Ontario. DIAC programs and research focus on ways to use design capability and design tools to improve economic, social and environmental outcomes and increase prosperity for the province and for all Canadians. DIAC’s board represents the professional design associations in Ontario.

OALA is seeking a full member to represent the Association on the DIAC Board.

Responsibilities of DIAC Board Members

In it’s current structure, DIAC includes two board members representing each of the design associations in Ontario. The responsibilities of the board members are:

  • To attend board meetings (scheduled in advance every 6 to 8 weeks). Each association should be represented by at least one board member at each meeting.
  • To review and approve funding proposals, research reports and program proposals.
  • To contribute knowledge, expertise and insights to program planning and the overall work of DIAC through board discussion.
  • To report back to the board member’s discipline-specific association on the work of DIAC and on specific program initiatives.
