Change can be difficult, but also stimulating. As we begin to adjust to our 'new normal' post-pandemic, landscape architects must innovate and learn to adapt to many issues at the forefront of change impacting our work and our communities- such as the ongoing climate crisis, the development of Bill 23, and addressing racial and social inequities. We must be prepared to take on sudden change as an opportunity.
On September 28-29, 2023, join the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects (OALA) in Toronto for Sudden Change: Transformative Solutions, a conference that will explore the integral role landscape architects play in creating innovative and adaptive solutions for the well-being of our communities.
Over two days there are many opportunities to learn and engage with colleagues.
Thursday, September 28:
1. 2:00 - 4:30 pm - Pick up by bus at the DoubleTree Hilton downtown and head to the Port Lands for a walking tour led by Heather Schibli and Marc Hallé. Return back to the DoubleTree at 5 pm. Please note that hard hats and construction boots are required. (Please ensure you select the walking tour on the registration drop down)
2. 5:00 - 8:00 pm - Browse through a collection of free books, and join the Reception - casual dress; if you are coming directly from the walking tour hard hats and construction boots are welcome - at the Double Tree Hilton for cocktails, canapes, and music by Felicia Mcminn. President of OALA Stefan Fediuk will be giving a short speech and take a cupcake to go.
