Several decisions and outcomes of COP15 have demonstrated that subnational and local governments are crucial actors to make tangible contributions to nature conservation and biodiversity management globally. Therefore it is important to invest resources in providing them the necessary tools.
This session is focused on “building capacity” to enhance the knowledge and skills of local governments. Several institutions which are key leaders on biodiversity policy will present initiatives to scale out the action of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.
