JUNIOR LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT (3 TO 5 YEARS PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE) - FULL TIME POSITION

CCxA looking for a passionate and qualified landscape architect with 3 to 5 years of experience, who possesses excellent design and communication skills and demonstrates a strong sense of initiative. In addition to being well-organized, the candidate must be able to work effectively within a close-knit team and show autonomy, initiative, rigor, and flexibility.

We are particularly seeking someone recognized for their conceptual and creative abilities, with an interest in preparing technical documents such as plans and specifications, cost estimates, coordination with other professionals, and construction administration and site supervision. Experience working within an iterative design process, as well as a good knowledge of plants, would be considered an asset.

Description of tasks:

• Develop and prepare colour plans, presentation drawings, and 3D rendered perspectives;

• Develop clear and unique design narratives that support the communication of concepts;

• Conduct inventories of existing conditions and document site analyses;

• Develop designs and drawings from preliminary concepts and sketches;

• Make decisions regarding vegetation and materials;

• Assist with delivering complete drawings sets and specifications for execution;

• Coordinate with other professionals, architects, employees, surveyors, etc;

• Assist in the preparation of reports and project proposals;

• Perform quantity calculations and cost estimates;

• Carry out site visits and prepare construction reports.

Qualifications & Prerequisites:

• OALA full membership is mandatory to work as a Landscape Architect in Ontario;
• 3 to 5 years professional experience in a recognized office in landscape architecture;

• A Masters and/or a Bachelor’s degree in landscape architecture and/or urban design;

• Diploma and/or Bachelors in architecture (an asset)

• Software proficiencies: AutoCAD and Revit, Microsoft Office, Adobe CS, Sketch UP and other 3D modeling software.

• Excellent communication in French and oral and written English.
