Brackish is a boutique landscape architecture practice with offices in Saint John, NB and Halifax, NS. Since 2019, we have prided ourselves on producing quality built work that celebrates the uniqueness of our coastal region, for institutional, government, commercial, and private clients throughout Atlantic Canada. We are currently seeking a full-time landscape architect to join our team. A position at Brackish provides the opportunity to work on some of the region’s most unique and spectacular sites, to collaborate with talented multi-disciplinary teams, and to hone one’s skills on projects of all different scales. The successful candidate will have the option to work out of either of our offices, and will enjoy all of the benefits of a balanced east coast lifestyle in either city.
The current position will be well-suited to a professional, hardworking individual who enjoys working in a collaborative studio environment. Our ideal candidate will have a graduate degree from an accredited landscape architecture program, and 3-7 years of experience working at a landscape architectural firm. The candidate will hold the following qualifications:
•Strong conceptual design skills
•Project management experience
•Excellent verbal, written, and visual communication skills
•Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
•Experience with Civil 3D, Sketchup, Rhino, or TwinMotion is an asset
•Ability to work as part of a team and balance multiple projects and deadlines
•Experience in all aspects of project delivery, from concept to contract administration and post-construction
•Full membership and seal with a CSLA component organization is an asset.
Job duties will include:
•Participation in collaborative design processes both within the office and with external consultant teams
•Visiting and documenting sites for new projects, and conducting research and site analysis
•Development of conceptual design graphics and presentations
•Production of construction documents using AutoCAD Civil 3D
•Production of cost estimates and tender documents
•Project management, including leading a team of junior staff, coordination with clients, other consultants, suppliers, and trades, and management of project budgets
•Conducting research on materials, products, and technologies
•Contribution to written reports and documents such as master plans and proposals
•Performing construction site inspections and documenting construction progress
