Continuing Education Committee Volunteer

The Continuing Education Committee (CEC) is seeking new members to support its important work in fostering the professional growth of OALA members.

The CEC develops and delivers diverse learning opportunities that reflect the Association’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values. Through its efforts, the Committee ensures that members can successfully meet the standards of the Mandatory Continuing Education (MCE) Program, while also promoting continuous learning and development.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Committee

• Plan, develop, and deliver educational programs, workshops, and webinars that support the Mandatory Continuing Education (MCE) requirements.
• Identify annual priorities, themes, and topics to guide continuing education programming.
• Collaborate with the OALA Conference Organizing Committee to help source and coordinate speakers, presenters, workshop leaders, and tour facilitators for the annual conference.
• Work with the Member Services Administrator to ensure all educational programs and events, including externally supported initiatives, are effectively communicated to members.

Time Commitment

The Committee will meet monthly or on an as-needed basis.

Length of Appointment

Committee member appointments are unlimited (typically two (2) to five (5) years).
