OALA Volunteer Opportunity: Present to the OPBA on Procurement Best Practices

OALA is seeking members interested to present to the OPBA regarding Procurement Best Practices

OALA has been approached by the Ontario Public Buyers Association (OPBA) with an opportunity to deliver a virtual educational session to their membership regarding procuring Landscape Architects for Public Works.

The education session would be presented virtually for 1 hour, and include topics relevant to the profession, including Case Studies of well written and recent problematic RFPs (some of which OALA has formally responded), point to existing resources such as the Engaging a Landscape Architect Guides, and best practices and limitations in procurement (not requiring design as part of a submission).

OALA is seeking a mix of 3-5 private and public sector members to:

• With support from OALA, identify the talking points and subjects
• Develop the 1-hour presentation
• Full Member(s) to deliver the presentation in a virtual format

Assets of the members in the group:

• Experience procuring consulting and design work
• Experience responding to municipal RFP’s

The delivery of this presentation will be coordinated with OPBA’s educational calendar availability, but we hope it might be offered in late 2026 or early 2027.
