The Opportunity:
We are seeking a talented and motivated ISA Certified Arborist / Landscape Designer to join our team. This hybrid role combines arboricultural expertise with creative landscape design, supporting a variety of public and private sector projects including parks, streetscapes, infrastructure, and development planning.
What You’ll Do:
- Conduct tree inventories, health assessments, and risk evaluations in accordance with ISA standards
- Prepare Arborist Reports, Tree Preservation Plans, and Tree Protection Specifications
- Collaborate with landscape architects and engineers to integrate tree protection and planting strategies into design
- Prepare landscape planting plans, assist landscape design and construction documents
- Liaise with clients, municipalities, and contractors relevant to tree protection measures and removal recommendations
- Manage tree permit applications and compliance with municipal tree bylaws and policies
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- ISA Certified Arborist designation (active and in good standing)
- Additional certifications (Tree Risk Assessment Qualification, Utility Specialist, etc.) are a plus
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in or related fields
- Strong knowledge of Ontario tree species, urban forestry practices, and tree protection bylaws
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Adobe Creative Suite; Civil 3D and GIS experience is an asset
- Ability to interpret and prepare technical drawings and reports
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Valid Ontario driver’s license and access to a vehicle for site visits
