Position Overview

We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Junior Landscape Designer to join our team for the Summer 2026 season, with the potential to extend into the Fall. This entry-level role offers a comprehensive, hands-on introduction to the world of high-end residential design. You will work closely with senior principals across all phases of a project—from initial concept and client presentations to municipal approvals and construction documentation.

The ideal candidate is an adaptive team player ready to split their time between creative design development, precise technical drafting, and essential office operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design & 3D Modeling: Assist in developing creative design concepts and rendering realistic 3D models and perspectives for client presentations.
  • Drafting & Documentation: Prepare base maps, site analysis diagrams, and accurate construction documentation/drafting (layouts, grading, and planting plans).
  • Estimating & Pricing: Assist with project take-offs, researching material costs, and sourcing specialized features or plant material to help compile accurate project estimates.
  • Office Administration: Provide day-to-day administrative support, including organizing project files, managing material libraries, coordinating vendor samples, and preparing permit submission packages.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Current student or recent graduate of an accredited Landscape Architecture (BLA/MLA) or Landscape Design program.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of standard industry software, specifically:
    • 2D Drafting: AutoCAD
    • 3D Modeling/Rendering: SketchUp, Lumion, or Rhino
    • Graphic Suite: Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign)
    • Office Suite: Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets (for pricing and take-offs)
  • Design Sense: A keen eye for residential design, spatial layout, and high-quality material details.
  • Soft Skills: Strong organizational skills, clear communication, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced studio environment.

What We Offer

  • Direct mentorship from experienced landscape architects.
  • Exposure to luxury residential project workflows and high-profile portfolios.
  • A collaborative, creative studio culture.
