Careers: Urban Design Intern – Full Time

About Ut

Urbantypology Inc. (Ut) is a creative studio practicing the art and science of placemaking. Our design practice spans Master Planning, Urban Design, and Landscape Architecture — dedicated to creating meaningful places that people will enjoy and connect with for generations. We deliver beautiful, sustainable, equitable, and performance-driven projects, and have earned a reputation for being progressive, passionate, and responsive in our mission to connect People + Places.

We are seeking a motivated, creative, and entrepreneurial Urban Design Intern to join our studio in Toronto's Junction Triangle. If you are looking for an immersive design experience and the opportunity to play a meaningful role in shaping a growing creative studio, Urbantypology is the place to do it.

Responsibilities

  • Support the production of project deliverables and company-wide tasks with accountability, ownership, and attention to quality
  • Work independently and collaboratively throughout the creative process — from conceptual development and design iteration through to technical production
  • Prepare graphic visuals, sketches, design concepts, research, reports, and presentation materials
  • Develop 3D models and renderings to communicate design intent
  • Graphically convey project opportunities and constraints clearly and effectively
  • Contribute innovative ideas and creative solutions to every design challenge
  • Uphold and maintain firm-wide standards of quality across all assigned work
  • Support the team in developing and refining production workflows and studio systems
  • Meet project schedules and budgets with a strong sense of professional responsibility

Who You Are

You are curious about cities and the way people experience them. You bring care and intention to your work — whether that's a sketch, a rendering, or a production drawing — and you're comfortable asking questions and learning as you go. You enjoy being part of a team, take your tasks seriously, and are looking for a studio environment where you can grow alongside talented people who are invested in your development.

You don't need to have all the answers. You just need to show up with a genuine interest in placemaking and a willingness to contribute.
